Conquer the Steeps – Ride Technical Terrain with Confidence and Control
Steep and technical trails can be intimidating — but with the right technique and mindset, they become a playground. This course is all about helping you stay in control, find grip, and ride the roughest lines with confidence.
What we are going to cover:
Body Positioning for steep descents to stay balanced and in control
Grip Management – how to identify traction points and use them for braking or pumping
Line Choice and trail reading to ride smoother and faster
Progressive Practice on Djouce’s best technical and steep trails to push your comfort zone safely
What to bring:
A Full helmet, knee pads and gloves, mandatory.
A bike in good working order, full suspension bikes and E-Bikes are welcome (DH bikes not suitable for this course).
Water and food (energy bar, sandwich, fruit, or something similar).
Essential tool kit to fix punctures and minor issues on the trail.
Is this course for me?
This course is designed for experienced riders who want to build confidence on steep and technical terrain — whether for racing or weekend rides.
Minimum Skill Level:
You should be comfortable riding black downhill trails at places like Rostrevor, GAP, or similar bike parks.
Location: Djouce Woods.
Time: 13:00 to 16:00.
Fitness level required: Medium - High.
Minimum age: 15
